Fix-It Friday: Shedding a Little Light

I have to say that I just went all out and had a little editing fun with this li'l guy. I tried not to make it look overdone - but wanted to give it a little character.

11-13-09 fixed

Here is my Picnik Process:

  • Edit - Auto Fix
  • Rotate (don't remember how many degrees)
  • Advanced - Curves - Ambrotype - Color Override 50% - Fade 50%
  • Touch Up - Wrinkle Remover (for under the eyes) - Airbrush (to soften the face)
  • Curves - Lighten from center - Velvia (faded)
  • Touch Up - Eye Bright
  • Curves - Lighten from center a bit more

In other words, after I darkened things up a bit with the Ambrotype, I enjoyed shedding a little light on the subject. ;)

Fix-It Friday: Snow White

Hello Fix-It Friday Friends. I know, I know...it's Sunday. I've had lots of my own "fix-its" to tend to lately, and so this post went by the wayside. Thankfully, this "Snow White" photo was a fairly easy fix-it. I was conent with the results after only a few "fix-its" - - I like my photos to be as natural as possible. This little girl makes me think of Snow White with her fair complexion and dark, dark hair and eyes...

Before After

And just to prove how simple is was, this is my Picnik Process:
  • Edit - Exposure - Auto Fix
  • Create - Advanced - Curves - Default - Reala 400 - 60%
  • Touch-Up - Eye Color - Closest to Orinigal Color - no fade
  • Edit - Exposure - Exposure - 7

Fix-It Friday: Fairy Goodness

Okay, people. I really need to let you in on a little secret and swallow my pride. Totally swallow my pride.

People ask me what program I use to edit. And I tell them. But, I never really "advertise" it really. It seems that when I don't share my editing process, people assume I know and use photoshop. Let's face it, I'm no Photoshop Guru. In fact, it totally strains my brain to use it. And, it's expensive. (Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have it...)So, I've been learning and loving good old Picasa and Picnik.

So, I'm going to share my Picnik Processes on Fix-It Fridays. Hope that doesn't make me a loser in the photography world. Eh...whatever. :) Enjoy...

Fix-It Friday: Tutu Too Cute

Okay, folks. This one wasn't as easy as all that. Shadows, shadows.

I like how b/w makes shadows looks less..."shadowy", if you will, and more..."blendy" (to use another technical term). This one is nice, although I forgot one minor thing that I did on the second and third edits...can you guess what it is? :)

Now, because of the shadows, I had a really hard time brightening up the photo without washing out this little cutie. Not sure I accomplished what I really wanted to...but, it's definitely less shadowy.

This one is a teeny-tiny bit different...more contrast in color...

And here's a little BW action AFTER I "brightened" the photo a bit. I'm liking this "whimsical" feel!
